HMI

HMI

Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) play a crucial role in process control and SCADA systems by providing graphical displays that allow users to interact with control systems.    We offer comprehensive training on various HMI platforms, including the widely-used Citect, Wonderware, and WinCC platforms.

about this course format

Our “Online” training course offers you the flexibility to complete the program at your own pace, making it convenient for your schedule. You can choose to take the course entirely online or with real-time interaction with an instructor.

This course leans more towards theoretical concepts compared to face-to-face training, primarily due to its online delivery format. However, a hybrid approach with occasional classroom visits may be available.s

Who the course is for

This program is designed for maintenance, engineering, management, and process staff who work with process control & SCADA systems and seek flexible learning opportunities.

What you'll learn

Learning outcomes and curriculum are generally aligned with international Industry requirements and include the following:

  • Understanding the essential principles of HMIs.
  • Demonstrating a good working knowledge of relevant HMI products; Citect, Wonderware, Proficy iFix, simplicity, WinCC, RSView, etc.
  • Practical experience in the applicable HMI graphic development environment.
  • Configuring variables, alarms, trends and historical data.
  • Using comms with internal and external automation devices.
  • Utilising embedded templates and graphical objects in the HMI project, e.g. wizards and genies.
  • Configuring users, privileges and security objects.
  • Creating a specific project using a functional description.
  • Interfacing to a live PLC device using appropriate drivers.
  • Troubleshooting using the HMI software tools and interface.
  • Configuring HMI operator panels e.g. Magelis, Red Lion and PanelView.

about this course format

Our “Face to Face” training courses offer engaging, instructor-led sessions in a traditional classroom environment. Participants enjoy the benefits of being part of a small workgroup, which encourages interactive learning and provides personalised attention to technical topics that can be based on your ‘site specific’ assets and requirements.

This method of training can provide a faster route to achieving specific competences in a particular subject area, particularly if it integrates your employer site policies and procedures.

Who the course is for

Maintenance, engineering, management and process staff working with automation systems and are looking for classroom based training.
